Antiarrhythmics Drugs
Anti-arrhythmic drugs generally refer to the drugs for the prevention and treatment of tachycardia arrhythmia. In recent years, due to the in-depth study of electrophysiology, people have a further understanding of the mechanism of antiarrhythmic drugs; the establishment of micro-assay of drug content in the body enables the medicine treatment designing to control arrhythmia according to the pharmacokinetic principles; with the continuous monitoring on the electrocardiogram and the help of computer, we can obtain the relationship between the plasma concentration of patients and the clinical efficacy of drugs. All of these advances have contributed to the discovery of new drugs and the treatment of arrhythmias. According to the electrophysiological characteristics of antiarrhythmic drugs, several classification methods of Anti-arrhythmic drugs have been proposed. They are usually divided into the following four categories-membrane-stabilizing agents, action potential duration and refractory period extenders, beta-blockers and calcium antagonists. But the first two are also known as non-specific anti-arrhythmic drugs and the latter two as specific anti-arrhythmic drugs.
