| METHANOL-D Usage And Synthesis |
Chemical Properties | colourless liquid | Uses | Methanol-d is an intermediate for making other chemicals. | Definition | ChEBI: Methanol-d1 is a deuterated compound, an alkyl alcohol, a one-carbon compound, a primary alcohol and a volatile organic compound. | General Description | Methan(ol-d) (Methanol-OD, CH3OD) is a deuterated form of methanol. Dissociation of CH3OD adsorbed on the clean W(100) surface resulted in the formation of hydrogen, carbon and oxygen (β-CO). Additionally, carbon dioxide, water and methyl formate were obtained when similar dissociation was conducted over the W(100)-(5×1)C surface. The dissociation process was monitored by temperature-programmed reaction spectroscopy. Self-diffusion coefficient, shear viscosities and densities of liquid CH3OD have been determined by NMR spin-echo technique. |
