formetanate Usage And Synthesis
DescriptionFormetanate, is also called 3-dimethylaminomethyleneaminophenyl methylcarbamate (IUPAC), yellow crystals, solubility in water, <1 g/L at 20 ?C, soluble in acetone, chloroform, and methanol.
Formetanate is made by reacting 3-dimethylaminomethyleneaminophenol with methyl isothiocyanate. It is active against the mobile stages of fruit tree spider mites.
Chemical PropertiesWater soluble.
UsesAcaricide for deciduous fruits.
UsesFormetanate is a pesticide residue in table grapes, green pepper and cucumber. A pesticide with multiple applications.
DefinitionChEBI: Formetanate is a carbamate ester. It has a role as an EC 3.1.1.7 (acetylcholinesterase) inhibitor, a carbamate insecticide, an acaricide and an agrochemical. It is functionally related to a methylcarbamic acid and a N'-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-N,N-dimethylformamidine.
