Tetraamylammonium Iodide is is a quaternary ammonium based antimicrobial used as a bacteriostat, deodorant, disinfectant and(or) a microbiocide.
Purification Methods
Crystallise the iodide from EtOH and dry it at 35o under a vacuum. It has also been purified by dissolving in acetone and precipitating by adding diethyl ether, and drying at 50o for 2 days. [Beilstein 4 IV 677.]
