Uses | Fenitrothion-oxon has good effects on piercing-sucking, chewing and boring pests. It is mainly used for water spraying or powder spraying with emulsifiable concentrate on rice, soybean, cotton, vegetables, fruit trees, tea trees, oil crops and forest trees. Lice, thrips, aphids, scale insects, sweet potato weevil and other pests and spider mites, but the effect on the eggs of mites is poor. It can also control sanitary pests such as flies, mosquitoes, cockroaches and warehouse pests. | Synthesis | Fenitrothion-oxon can be prepared by nitrifying and oxidizing m-cresol to 3-methyl-4-nitrophenol, and then reacting with dimethylphosphoryl thiochloride. |
