Didodecylamine Usage And Synthesis
DescriptionDidodecylamine is a secondary amine. It is reported as standard amine enhancer and its dermal enhancement properties has been studied using in vitro diffusion cell techniques. Solidification point of dodecylamine has been reported to be 26.2°C.
Chemical Propertieswhite crystalline solid
UsesDidodecylamine may be used:
  • to promote the crystal growth of 2D nanosheets of GdOCl with approximately square cross sections
  • to investigate the effect of alkyl chain length of amine on phase transfer of aqueous synthesized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) from water to toluene
  • in the preparation of novel class of liquid crystalline complexes, by the interaction of copper nitrate

General DescriptionDidodecylamine is a secondary amine. It is reported as standard amine enhancer and its dermal enhancement properties has been studied using in vitro diffusion cell techniques. Solidification point of dodecylamine has been reported to be 26.2°C.
Purification MethodsCrystallise the amine from EtOH/*C6H6 under N2, and store away from CO2. It provides two crystalline forms: an -form with m 44.4o and a -form with m 51.8o. The hydrochloride has m 207-208o(dec, from isoProOH), the hydroiodide has m 23.8-234o(dec, sealed capillary) and the nitrate has m 125.4-125.2o(dec. sealed capillary) when crystallised from MeOH/Me2CO.
