| DIBENZOTHIOPHENE-D8 Usage And Synthesis |
Uses | Dibenzothiophene-1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9-d8 is used as an internal standard in the chromatography analysis for polycyclic aromatic compounds in complex mixtures. Also, it is the deuterated form of Dibenzothiophene (D417370), which is commonly used in microbial studies as a sole, organic sulfur and carbon source for growth. Research concerning the biodegradation of dibenzothiophene by different types of bacteria is a currently being carried out, as these bacteria have the ability to breakdown other harmful polycyclic hydrocarbons (PAH) as well. This may prove to be a very practical method in removing PAH’s from soils, sludge and crude oils. |
