4-NITROPHENYL PHOSPHATE DISODIUM SALT HEXAHYDRATE Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Properties
White to off-white powder
Uses
Phosphatase substrate has been used in the chromogenic detection of adsorbed rabbit IgG to determine coating efficiency.
Uses
4-Nitrophenyl phosphate disodium salt hexahydrate has been used in:
enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to visualize glycoprotein VI (GPVI) binding to collagen type I (Col I)
enzymatic color reaction for semi-quantitative measurement of allergen-specific IgE by ELISA
alkaline phosphatase assay
Uses
Substrate for alkaline and acid phosphatase determinations4-Nitrophenyl phosphate disodium salt hexahydrate is a chromogenic substrate used in the determination of acid and alkaline phosphatases.
General Description
Chromogenic substrate for the determination of acid and alkaline phosphatases. The reaction produces a soluble end product that is yellow in color. The reaction may be stopped with 3 N NaOH and read at 405 nm.
Biochem/physiol Actions
4-Nitrophenyl phosphate disodium salt hexahydrate (pNPP) is a non-proteinaceous and non-specific substrate for determining protein tyrosine phosphatase activity. Hydrolysis of pNPP yields p-nitrophenol. pNPP is a common chromogenic substrate for alkaline phosphatase.
