Basic Blue 26 Usage And Synthesis
Chemical PropertiesBasic Blue 26 is bright brown powder
UsesBasic Blue 26 used in the quantitative determination of phospholipids and as a nuclear stain in cytology/histochemical applications.
UsesVictoria Blue B is used as a nuclear stain in cytology/histochemical applications. Victoria Blue B may be used in the quantitative determination of phospholipids.
Preparation(a) 4-(Dichloro(4-(diethylamino)phenyl)methyl)-N,N-diethylbenzenamine and ?Naphthalen-1-amine condensation; (b) Bis (4 – (dimethylamino) phenyl) methanol and ?Naphthalen-1-amine condensation, the product into N-and the nitro derivatives, and then oxidation, remove the nitro.
DefinitionChEBI: Victoria blue B is an iminium salt composed of 4-{(4-anilinonaphthalen-1-yl)[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]methylidene}-N,N-dimethylcyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-iminium and chloride ions in a 1:1 ratio. It binds to nucleic acids and can be used in standardised staining techniques suitable for automated cell-pattern recognition. It has a role as a histological dye and a fluorochrome. It is an iminium salt and an organic chloride salt. It contains a victoria blue B(1+).
Flammability and ExplosibilityNotclassified
Properties and Applicationsbright blue. Deep purple or celadon powder. Soluble in hot water and cold water for blue, soluble in ethanol also to blue. The strong sulfuric acid to red light brown, for yellow to green after diluted, and then into a blue. The dye solution to join sodium hydroxide deep red light brown precipitation. Used for silk, wool dyeing, also used in bamboo, wood, printing paper and ordinary paper shading, is used to make organic pigments and solvent dye.
