| AdelMitrol Usage And Synthesis |
Description | N,N'-Bis(2-hydroxyethyl)nonanediamide, also named Admidol, is an anti-inflammatory ethanolamide derivative. It is hydrophilic and hydrophobic, favoring its solubility in water and organic media. As an naturally occurring saturated dicarboxylic acid, it is found in trace amounts in the human body and in some whole grains. Adelmidrol is an analogue of palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), which is a well-known anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant compound. Adelmidrol was able to manage the significant incapacity of antioxidants and elevation of the oxidant burden[1-2]. | Uses | Adelmidrol is an anti-inflammatory. It can be used in biological study of protective effect of adelmidrol as new palmitoylethanolamide analog for pharmacol. treatment of inflammatory bowel disease in mouse model. | Biological Activity | Adelmidrol is an analog of hexadecylamide ethanol (PEA) with anti-inflammatory activity. | in vitro | Adelmidrol is a palmitoylethanolamide analogue. Adelmidrol reduces NF-κB translocation, COX-2, and p-ERK expression; proinflammatory cytokine release; and the incidence of nitrotyrosine and poly(ADP)ribose in the colon. p> |
