3,5-Dichloro-2,4,6-trifluoropyridine Usage And Synthesis
Chemical PropertiesClear colorless to pale yellow liquid
General DescriptionA colorless liquid. Insoluble in water and denser than water. Hence sinks in water. Contact may irritate skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. Very toxic by ingestion, inhalation and skin absorption. Used to make other chemicals.
Air & Water ReactionsInsoluble in water.
Reactivity Profile3,5-DICHLORO-2,4,6-TRI-FLUOROPYRIDINE is a halogenated amine. Behaves as a weak chemical base, neutralizing acids in exothermic reactions. May be incompatible with isocyanates, halogenated organics, peroxides, phenols (acidic), epoxides, anhydrides, and acid halides. Flammable gaseous hydrogen may be generated in combination with strong reducing agents, such as hydrides.
Health HazardHighly toxic, may be fatal if inhaled, swallowed or absorbed through skin. Avoid any skin contact. Effects of contact or inhalation may be delayed. Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. Runoff from fire control or dilution water may be corrosive and/or toxic and cause pollution.
Fire HazardNon-combustible, substance itself does not burn but may decompose upon heating to produce corrosive and/or toxic fumes. Containers may explode when heated. Runoff may pollute waterways.
